Jamie took off today to work in the yard. He did get some yard work done but the sunshine was so pretty and in the distance we could hear the lake calling our name. So, at around 1:oo we loaded up and headed to the lake. Here are a few pictures from our day.
Luke loves the water. He would hold my or his Daddy's hand and jump right in! I am sure by the end of the summer he will not even need to hold our hand. He has no fear!

Pictures from Eli's Awards Day
Awards Day was a little different this year at Eli's school. They decided that each teacher would give out the awards in the classroom versus having a big long ceremony in the auditorium. I thought it worked much better this way, especially with two small children in tow.
Eli recieved a medal for all A's & B's.Eli & his friend Kayla were voted most artistic in their class.

Happy Memorial Day!
What a fun yet wet day we have had. We went this morning to the lake to hang out with some of our friends, the Daughtrys. It started raining shortly after we got there but stopped after we finished lunch. So, we thought it was safe to take a ride out on the lake. We should have waited a little while longer because it turned into the wettest boat ride of my life. Fortunately it was only rain, no lightening! The kids of course thought it was great. When the rain stopped, we stopped the boat and let the kids swim for a few minutes. We made it back to the Daughtry's just in time! Once we stepped onto the dock the thunder started rolling. We gathered all our things and made it inside just as the bottom fell out!!! This was Luke's first boat ride and even in the rain, he LOVED it. He almost fell asleep! When we stopped to let the older kids swim, he wanted in the water too. I can tell this is going to be a fun summer on the lake for the Alexander family! Hopefully, the next time we go out, the weather will cooperate and I can take the camera and get a few pictures.

Playdate with our Friends!
Today we had some of our favorite friends over for a playdate, the Laughlin boys and the Waldrop girls. The kids found dad's new lawnmower box in the garage and turned it into a great play station. Never mind the trampoline or swing set, they'd rather play with a box! We had a great time and cannot wait to do it again!
School's Out!!
Well, for the Alexander family, summer is officially here. Eli is out of school as of lunch today and we are so excited. Let the sibling rivalry begin..... On Tuesday, Eli had his awards program. He received a medal for all A's & B's for the year as well as the National Physical Fitness Award. (He missed the Presidential award by 1.5 minutes - we'll have to work on his 1 mile running time.) He was also voted by his class as most artistic. He had a really great 4th grade year and I can hardly believe he will be in the 5th grade next year. He is growing up entirely too fast!!!! Here is a pic of his awards.

Jill's End of the Year Party!!
Jill's last day of Mom's Day Out (MDO) was yesterday and she had a great day!! She had a WONDERFUL teacher, Mrs. Brenda, who we love very much and are going to miss greatly next year. I have tried, along with several other moms, to convince her to move up and teach four year olds next year! Unfortunately I haven't been able to convince her yet. After "school" ended we headed to a swim party at Jill's friend Avery's house. The kids had a blast!! Here are a couple of pics from the party.

Jill's End of the Year Program
Jill's end of the year program was today at Little Lamb's Mom's Day Out. She still has class tomorrow and Thursday but they had their program today. At first she was doing great - then she realized how many parents were there and she got a little nervous. She told me she didn't like singing for all those parents. I guess we were intimidating. She did a great job though! It is hard to believe this year is already over! Jill attended class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (8:30 - 12:30)this year but next year she will go Tues, Wed, and Thurs 8:30 - 2:00. Hopefully this will get her ready for the shock of Kindergarten - all day, every day! I remember shortly after Eli began kindergarten he asked, "Mommy, when is Mommy day now?" It was a really tough transition for him and Jill has been away from me even less than Eli was and Luke - well let's just say they will probably have to pry him off of me with a crowbar the first time I try to leave him. He is a Mommy's boy!! Here are a few pics from the program. Some are a little dark, sorry about that. Unfortunately, I didn't get to sit on the front row.

No Post But New Background!
Jamie told me that if I changed the background I had to do a post. Unfortunately it took me so long to figure out how to change the background that there isn't much time to post. I hope all of you Mom's had a wonderful Mother's Day. I know I did!! Good night all!

We're Going to Disney World!
I am not sure who is more excited, Jamie and I or the kiddos!! We were going to keep it a secret until the week before we go, however Jamie and I were so excited to tell them we just could not wait. Because this is their first time to go to Disney, we decided to make it special when we told Eli & Jill. We came up with a scavenger hunt and after their favorite dinner of lasagna - we gave them the first clue. The clues took them all around the house with their final clue leading them to a suitcase filled with Disney "stuff," mock plane tickets, and the final clue which read,
"There's Mickey, a princess, tickets and more...
What do you think we have in store?
Tell Mom and Dad, now tell them quick.
Keeping it a secret is making them sick!!!"
It took Eli a minute but he did figure it out. They were jumping around and shouting, "We're flying to Disney, we're flying to Disney!!" I'm not sure if they are more excited about flying or Disney but it was definitely the reaction I was hoping for! Here are a few pics of them looking for their clues and the reaction at the end.
